Conclusion
All-in-all this little bugger has some nice bang-for-the-buck. For only $400 you can get a PC to take care of multimedia & web surfing. As well as office tasks. AND it's very, very, very portable. The Atom surprised me, I was expecting it to be painfully slow, but it's not. Especially when running at near 2.0Ghz speeds. It is hyper-threaded. Just as long as you don't buy one expecting a power-house I think you'll be pleasantly surprised as well.

Woo! Featured.
I was gonna wait till Monday to resubmit, but I think you guys did a fine job.
Also, update on my Eee PC. I got my 2Gig OCZ 800Mhz stick in and swapped it for the 1Gig 667Mhz stick in the Eee PC. I can OC the Atom to about 1.95Ghz(Prime95 Stable for 24 Hours) now. I'm happy with that, considering the Chipset is only good for 667Mhz FSB and I'm running over 750Mhz FSB.
I can watch HD flash videos, but they are still choppy a bit. It's okay for slow stuff, but if it's a fast-paced video it'll annoy you.
Before anyone asks, the FPS on the CS 1.6 was 10-30. It tended to be about 25 FPS, then occasionally jump down to 10FPs for a second, before going back to the 25-30 range.
Also, if anyone has any questions about the Eee I can answer them & perhaps get Factor to add them to the review.

Great review, I am interested in getting another netboook for myself towards the end of this year. The N280 seems to OC better, but it's still lacking in terms of performance no matter how much you really push it. On my Acer Aspire one AOA150 netbook (1GB RAM, N270 Atom, Windows XP, 160GB HDD, and 8.9" screen) both SD and HD flash videos seem to run very sluggishly; this is probably due to the fact, as you mentioned before, that flash videos are very CPU intensive. I also notice a bit of a slow down when I play flash games, which again, is also CPU intensive.
However, it did perform a bit better than I had originally expected, and it does run Window 7 Ultimate (Beta) better than it does XP. I personally would wait for Nvidia's Ion platform and a Windows 7 based netboook to be released before making a new purchase. The 9400 GPU can handle 1080p videos and may be able to assist the atom processor in doing general tasks. So, if you really want a powerful, lightweight, and ultra portable machine, then most of us will have to wait until June, for that is when the Ion platform will supposedly be released.

I agree 100% Right now probably isn't the best time to buy a netbook. Considering the approaching Ion. Especially if you're looking for more GPU-oriented tasks.
I wonder, tho...is the Ion gonna help flash video? It seems the CPU is the limiting factor as of right now. I wonder how long it'll be before dual-cores hit netbooks? I'm curious as to how battery life will be, as well.
Man....we really need some new-age battery technology. What ever happened to all that money the car companies were investing in batt. tech for electric cars? (A big, heavy, volatile battery is the LAST thing I want in my car. )

Yeah, although this net book seems nice atm, ion will at least give us a semi-decent gpu.

That was a very good review which definately was helpful to me. I really like the idea of having a nice little netbook to run Linux on and I might end up gettin this one but now that I have my Q9550 I wonder how big of a shock using it will be. In conclusion great review.
